About the project

Maison Solène has blended fragrances in the same Grasse workshop for three generations. Their perfumes are known by word of mouth, and they wanted a film that felt the same way: personal, unhurried and impossible to fake.

The brief: show what a scent feels like before anyone has smelled it, without models, slogans or a voice-over.

What we made: a three-minute film shot from dawn to dusk in a single day, following the light as it moves across the bottles, the stone and the people who make them. We recorded the sound on set and built the score from it.

Where it lives: in the house's boutiques, on its new website and at the launch of its first fragrance in a decade.
