Everything we leave out
Written byClémence Arnaudon

The hardest part of any project is not adding the right idea. It is having the nerve to remove all the good ones around it.
Every project we finish is mostly made of things that are no longer there.
The second logo that almost won. The beautiful shot that slowed the film down. The paragraph everyone liked but nobody needed. By the time a piece of work leaves the studio, most of what we made for it has been quietly set aside.
This is not waste. It is how the work becomes clear.
Why we cut
A brand has a few seconds to be understood. A film has a few moments to earn the next ones. Every extra idea asks the audience to do more work, and most people will not. So we keep asking the same question: what is this really about, and what is only decoration?
How we decide
We pin everything to the wall, then take one thing down at a time. If nobody misses it after a day, it stays down. If someone keeps walking back to the empty space, we bring it back. The wall tells us what the work actually needs.
What it costs
Leaving things out takes longer than putting them in. It means saying goodbye to good ideas, sometimes our favourite ones, and explaining to clients why less is the better offer.
But the result is work that says one thing clearly, and keeps saying it for years.
